Sixth Annual Blue Ridge Music Hall of Fame Dinner and Induction Ceremony To Take Place Saturday, June 8

June 6, 2013. The Wilkes Heritage Museum is pleased to announce the Sixth Annual Blue Ridge Music Hall of Fame dinner and induction ceremony at the Stone Center for Performing Arts on Saturday, June 8, 2013.  The 2013 inductees include:  Andy Griffith, Nationally Known Artist; The Stoneman Family, Pioneer Artists; Norman Blake, Sideman and Regional Musician; Lester Flatt, Songwriter; Kyle Creed, Luthier; Bluegrass Unlimited, Media and Scholar; and Jimmy Church for a special Dr. T. R. Bryan Wilkes County Music Award.

The initial artists scheduled to perform during the ceremony include David Johnson, Eric Ellis, Scott Gentry, Scott Freeman, Pete Kuykendall, Willard Gayheart, Bobby Patterson, Tut Taylor, and the Gems (David Gambill, Bud Church, Jimmy Church, Jr., Lloyd Church, Rickie Church, and Clay Wilson).  We will be adding to the lineup in the days to come and will announce additional performers later.  Tickets for the ceremony are on sale at the Wilkes Heritage Museum gift shop or website.  Tickets are $35 per person and includes the dinner and ceremony.  The doors open at 6:00pm, dinner is at 6:30pm and the ceremony begins at 7:15pm.  Seating is limited so purchase your tickets early!

The Wilkes Heritage Museum strives to collect and preserve historic structures, artifacts, and documents of Wilkes County and serves as a resource center for every Wilkes County citizen and visitor.  Through exhibits, educational programs, performances, and research, the Wilkes Heritage Museum interprets the history of Wilkes County and western North Carolina. The Blue Ridge Music Hall of Fame is a component of the Wilkes Heritage Museum and exists to showcase and preserve the rich musical heritage of the greater Blue Ridge Mountains area.
