This performance is based on the beloved Dickens novel Oliver Twist. This musical is great for the entire family.

The summer theatre lineup will continue with Lend Me a Tenor July 15-19. The story revolves around a famous tenor who is thought to be incapacitated, so he is replaced by a pseudo-tenor. Mistaken identities ensue is this comedy listed by the New York Times as one of the best comedies of our era.

Finally, Lees-McRae Summer Theatre will present The Denim King: The Moses Cone Story, Aug. 1-7. The musical concerns the Cone family dynasty and explores how they came to be a major force in North Carolina history with their mills, which manufactured many fabrics including denim. The Blue Ridge Parkway commissioned Janet Barton Speer and John Thomas Oaks to write the script and music. Since the Cones lived in Blowing Rock, this production is an important glimpse into local history.
