Students, alumni, football fans and the Boone community are gearing up for Hall of Fame Day at Appalachian State on Sept. 5, when the Mountaineers will take on Howard University in the first season opener home game since 2001.

Not only will this special home game kick off football season in the High Country, it will also serve as a chance to bring the Appalachian family together for a great weekend at The Rock and celebrate the university’s all-star class of 2015 Hall of Fame inductees.

In the season’s first Mountaineer Talk on Tuesday, the ASU athletics department announced a series of brand new game day promotions designed to encourage students and fans to don their favorite gold get-ups and fill Kidd Brewer Stadium with excitement and intensity for the Howard game.

HALL OF FAME PACK

To ensure a big crowd on game day, the limited offer HALL OF FAME PACK promotion will give you an excellent deal on your tickets (while supplies last). This special offer gives you a chance to grab a pack of four regular reserved tickets for just $79.

Click here to get your tickets online, call 828-262-2079 or stop by the athletics ticket office at the Holmes Center on campus.

GOLDEN MOMENTS

In the first GOLDEN MOMENTS installment of the “Year of the Fan” festivities, ASU athletics will be celebrating loyal Mountaineer fans by rewarding those who are always faithful to the black and gold.

If you take advantage of the season opener special and purchase the Hall of Fame Pack, you have a chance to win special prizes between now and game day. Track ASU athletics on social media for details and more information on GOLDEN MOMENTS prizes.

ROCK THE GOLD

Head coach Scott Satterfield announced earlier this month that the players will sport brand new all-gold Nike uniforms for the season opener. To match the team’s fresh new look, the athletics department hopes to see football fans decked out in the classic Appalachian gold, too.

Kidd Brewer Stadium will host a Labor Day-inspired cook out of its own on game day, offering up $1 hot dogs (while supplies last) to any fans wearing gold through its ROCK THE GOLD promotion.
