Weekly Crime Reports: Activity Reported Around the High Country, May 25 – June 8

The following information is provided by local law enforcement agencies.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The following were provided by the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office.

May 25

ARREST: A male suspect, 22, of 433 Clint Norris Road in Boone, was charged with possession of a schedule III controlled substance.

May 26

ARREST: A male suspect, 29, of 5108 Meat Camp Road in Todd, was charged with breaking and entering a building, trespassing, larceny and vandalism.

May 30

INCIDENT: Drug violations were reported in a parking lot at 229 E. King St. in Boone.

May 31

INCIDENT: Drug violations, failure to appear and fictitious information to an officer were reported across from the West End Pantry in Boone. One metal spoon and one hypodermic needle were seized.

June 2

INCIDENT: Larceny and vandalism were reported at 903 Bishops Ridge Parkway in Blowing Rock after suspect(s) entered a fenced area and cut and removed ground wires. 250 feet of cell tower ground wires valued at $1,000 was reported damaged.

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at Roxanna Street and Red Maple Lane in Boone after suspect(s) damaged door locks on heavy equipment and poured dirt into the fuel line. Two Caterpillar key operated door lock systems valued at $600 and one Caterpillar fuel line system valued at $2,500 were reported damaged.

INCIDENT: Fraud was reported at 1101 Odes Wilson Road in Zionville after a victim received phone calls from someone claiming to be with the IRS.

INCIDENT: Communicating threats was reported at 526 Jones Drive in Boone.

ARREST: A female suspect, 33, of 561 William T. Calloway Road in Todd, was charged with felony trafficking opium or heroin and obtaining property by false pretense. She was held under a $50,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

June 3

INCIDENT: Calls for service were reported at 207 Mack Hampton Road in Blowing Rock after an offender accessed a victim’s email from a remote location.

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at 1159 Hardin Road in Boone. A solid brick flowerbed and mailbox area valued at $3,000 was reported damaged.

INCIDENT: Fraud was reported at 2790 Ridge Road in Boone.

INCIDENT: Fraud was reported at 4424 Meat Camp Road in Todd. $1,276 was reported stolen.

ARREST: A male suspect, 44, of 56 Mustang Lane in Elk Park, was charged with two counts of failure to appear on charges of simple worthless check. He was held under a $760 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 14.

ARREST: A female suspect, 30, of 5815 N.C. Highway 194 S. in Banner Elk, was charged with assault. She’s scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A male suspect, 27, of 309 Laurel Fork Road in Vilas, was charged with communicating threats. He’s scheduled to appear in court on July 14.

ARREST: A female suspect, 24, of 190 Sable Road Apt. 3 in Boone, was charged with failure to appear on drug charges. She was held under a $5,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 17.

June 4

INCIDENT: Damage to property and trespassing were reported at 1196 Teaberry Hills Road.

INCIDENT: Larceny and trespassing were reported at 176 Houndstooth Trail in Boone. Household items valued at $400 were reported stolen.

INCIDENT: Burglary, assault on a female and domestic criminal trespassing were reported at 108 Warren Lane in Zionville.

ARREST: A male suspect, 27, of 854 Northridge Drive in Boone, was charged with felony burglary, misdemeanor assault on a female and domestic criminal trespassing. He was held under a $75,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 23.

ARREST: A male suspect, 39, of 3849 Meat Camp Road in Todd, was charged with felony breaking and entering a building, larceny after breaking and entering and probation violation. He was held under a $30,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 15.

ARREST: An order for arrest was issued on a male suspect, 24, of 543 Clint Norris Road in Boone, on failure to pay child support.

June 5

INCIDENT: Aggravated assault was reported at Valle Crucis School, 2998 Broadstone Road.

INCIDENT: Breaking and entering, injury to real property and assault and battery were reported at 113 South Slope Circle Unit 1 in Banner Elk. One bi-folding door valued at $50 was reported damaged.

INCIDENT: Fraud was reported at 272 Coffey Ridge Drive in Blowing Rock.

INCIDENT: Injury to real property was reported at 128 Culps Drive in Boone. Property reported damaged includes three interior wooden door frames valued at $300, the face of one General Electric washing machine valued at $200, a kitchen cabinet door valued at $100, carpet flooring with spilled dried paint valued at $500, a crack in a fiberglass shower unit valued at $200 and vinyl kitchen flooring valued at $200.

INCIDENT: Trespassing was reported at 442 Broadstone Road Unit 1 in Banner Elk.

INCIDENT: Assault by pointing a firearm and communicating threats were reported at 217 Sunny Hill Lane in Deep Gap.

ARREST: A male suspect, 34, of 133 Poplar Creek Estates in Todd, was charged with parole and probation violations and contempt of court/perjury/court violations. He was held under a $15,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 12.

ARREST: A male suspect, 28, of 1297 N.C. Highway 105 S. in Vilas, was charged with felony manufacturing methamphetamine. He was held under a $100,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A male suspect, 23, of 301 East Magnolia Road in North Wilkesboro, was charged with aggressive driving. He’s scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A male suspect, 46, of 72 N. Market St. Apt. 78 in Asheville, was charged with trespassing. He was held under a $1,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

June 6

INCIDENT: A missing person was reported at 1148 Linville Creek Road in Vilas.

INCIDENT: Drug violations were reported at 1092 Mast Gap Road in Sugar Grove. A small plastic bag containing a white crystal substance and one clear glass smoking pipe with residue were seized.

INCIDENT: Drug violations were reported at Dollar General, 4546 U.S. Highway 421 N. in Vilas. Items seized include one black pouch with needles, one black plastic air soft gun, one knife with gray and black handle and one tin with razor blades.

INCIDENT: Assault on a female and communicating threats were reported at 303 Linda Lane in Vilas.

ARREST: A male suspect, 50, of 1598 Pope Road in Creedmoor, was charged with probation violation. He was held under a $20,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 29.

ARREST: An order for arrest was issued for a male suspect, 33, of 277 Keystone Drive in Boone, for failure to pay. He was held under a $1,060 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 15.

June 7

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at 2027 Russ Cornett Road in Bone after suspect(s) shot at a mailbox multiple times. One metal mailbox valued at $100 was reported damaged.

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at 139 Laurel Reach Lane in Boone. Two Huffy 10-speeds valued at $400 were reported stolen.

INCIDENT: Assault with a deadly weapon, communicating threats and vandalism were reported at 139 Laurel Reach Lane in Boone. One mesh window screen valued at $75 was reported damaged.

ARREST: A male suspect, 24, of 366 Hicks Road in Sugar Grove, was charged with felony obtaining a controlled substance by withholding and two counts of obtaining property by false pretense. He’s scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 17.

June 8

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at 100 Watauga River Road in Sugar Grove. A iPhone 5S cellphone valued at $350 was reported stolen.

INCIDENT: Physical assault was reported at 139 Laurel Reach Lane in Boone.

INCIDENT: A missing person was reported at 400 Yuma Lane in Deep Gap.

INCIDENT: Shoplifting was reported at Dollar General, 146 Yuma Lane in Deep Gap.

ARREST: A male suspect, 27, of 426 Horney Road in Newland, was charged with driving while impaired and no operator’s license. He’s scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

June 1

INCIDENT: Vandalism and larceny from a coin-operated device were reported at Bubbles Car Wash, 2890 N.C. Highway 105 just before 3 p.m.

ARREST: A female suspect, 33, of 194 Sweetwater Lane in Vilas, was charged with resisting, obstructing or delaying an officer, trespassing and intoxicated and disruptive. She was held under a $15,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

June 2

INCIDENT: Assault was reported at 275 Meadow Hill Drive just before 11:30 a.m.

INCIDENT: Larceny and breaking and entering a motor vehicle were reported at 386 Yosef Drive just after 2:30 p.m.

INCIDENT: Shoplifting was reported at Shoe Department, 1180 Blowing Rock Road, just before 7 p.m.

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at Council Oaks Residential Association, 100 Brookside Drive, just before 7:45 p.m.

ARREST: A male suspect, 21, of 137 Cumberland Green Drive in Cary was charged with three counts each of larceny and breaking or entering a motor vehicle. He was held under a $10,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 16.

STOLEN PROPERTY: An insurance card, an i-Tunes gift card, two credit cards, a debit card, a U.S. passport, a black leather wallet and U.S. currency were reported stolen from 386 Yosef Drive.

STOLEN PROPERTY: Two pairs of Nike tennis shoes were reported stolen from Shoe Department, 1180 Blowing Rock Road.

June 3

INCIDENT: Underage consumption of alcohol was reported at Watauga High School, 300 Go Pioneers Drive, at 9:30 a.m.

INCIDENT: Larceny of auto parts and accessories was reported at The Tapp Room, 421 Blowing Rock Road, at 1:50 p.m.

INCIDENT: Breaking and entering was reported at 200 Winklers Meadow Apt. G just after 11:20 p.m.

ARREST: A male suspect, 21, of 430 New River Heights Road, was charged with no insurance, displaying a fictitious registration plate, two counts of driving while license revoked and two counts of drug violations. He was held under a $1,700 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 23.

STOLEN PROPERTY: A North Carolina 30-day temporary license was reported stolen from the Tapp Room, 421 Blowing Rock Road.

STOLEN PROPERTY: A bottle of ibuprofen was reported stolen from 200 Winklers Meadow Apt. G.

June 4

ARREST: A female suspect, 21, of 1216 Rolling Mill Road in Holly Springs, was charged with driving while impaired and failure to maintain lane control. She’s scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

June 5

INCIDENT: Breaking and entering was reported at 204 Furman Road #2 just before 3 p.m.

ARREST: A female suspect, 26, of 411 Madison Ave. #305, was charged with vehicle light violation, driving while impaired and failure to maintain lane control. She’s scheduled to appear in court on July 23.

ARREST: A male suspect, 26, was charged with burglary. He was held under a $12,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.
June 6

INCIDENT: Physical assault was reported at 275 E King St. Room #6 at 12:40 a.m.

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at Boone Coin and Silverworks, 158 S. Depot St., just before 11:20 a.m.

ARREST: A female suspect, 41, of 140 Split Rail Lane in Blowing Rock, was charged with driving with a revoked license and driving while impaired. She’s scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A female suspect, 25, of 128 Tanner Road #B, was charged with left o center, no operator’s license, failure to burn rear lights on a motorcycle and driving while impaired. She’s scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A male suspect, 21, of 16908 Glassfield Drive in Huntersville, was charged with speeding and driving while impaired. He’s scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

June 7

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at 1377 Blowing Rock Road just after 1 p.m.

INCIDENT: Vandalism and larceny from a motor vehicle were reported at 604 W. King St. at 1:20 p.m.

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at 484 Highland Ave. just before 3 p.m.

ARREST: A male suspect, 24, of 595 Fox Road in Wilkesboro, was charged with driving while impaired. He’s scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A female suspect, 26, of 565 Yosef Drive #D, was charged with no operator’s license, improper backing and driving while impaired. She was held under a $750 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court in July 20.

ARREST: A male suspect, 25, of 302 Westover Drive in Sanford, was charged with driving while impaired. He’s scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: A male suspect, 46, was charged with intoxicated and disruptive. He was held under a $500 secured bond and was scheduled to appear in court on June 8.

STOLEN PROPERTY: A South Carolina vehicle registration plate was reported stolen at 1377 Blowing Rock Road.

STOLEN PROPERTY: Items reported stolen at 604 W. King St. in clued an extension cord, files, hammer, needle nose pliers, wire cutters, assorted drill bits, wood burning tool and a Skil saw.

STOLEN PROPERTY: Yard rakes, a snow shovel and towels were reported stolen from 484 Highland Ave.
