Appalachian Rollergirls to Host First Home Bout of 2015 at Holmes Center on Saturday

The Appalachian Rollergirls will take on the Little City Rollergirls in the first home bout of the season on Saturday, April 25 at the Holmes Convocation Center, 111 Rivers St. in Boone on the ASU campus.

Doors open at 5 p.m. for the 6 p.m. bout. Tickets are on sale now at www.holmescenter.com. You can also pick up tickets at the Holmes box office, Lucky Penny, Piedmont Federal Savings Bank, Café Portofino, Woodland’s Barbecue or from your favorite Rollergirl.team

Tickets will be $10 in advance, $12 at the door or $8 for students (must have student ID).

Proceeds will benefit the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

The local NAMI High Country chapter serves Watauga and surrounding counties. If you are a person living with a mental illness, a student interested in mental health issues or a professional working in the mental health field, check NAMI out!

NAMI offers monthly meetings, peer-to-peer programs, advocacy opportunities, family training programs, informative presentations, fun open mic nights, weekly informal coffee with friends and a bridge of acceptance and growth.

The Rollergirls encourage tailgating before the bout and will later host an after party at Café Portofino, 970 Rivers St. in Boone.
